While this practice is commonplace for American sports clubs, it had never happened in Italy for a Serie A team to have its own private plane for travel.
The choice stems from a marketing initiative of the Bulgarian airline TayaranJet, which has also been operating in Italy for the past few years with scheduled flights connecting Sicily with Rome and Bologna and other direct flights to Sofia.
The special feature is that S.S.Lazio will from now on use this 737/300 ex-Lufthansa for its travels, and during the rest of the period the plane will carry out normal scheduled flights. With this initiative the carrier hopes to intercept new passengers.

The aircraft is 31 years old and until 2016 was operated by Lufthansa for European routes.According to Flightradar, it landed yesterday, November 13, from Shannon where it was repainted in Lazio's social colors. It then departed for a flight to Brescia, from there it returned to Rome and then departed again for Sicily.
