"Peninsula time" revolutionizes check in forever
Check-in at 6 a.m. and check-out at 10 p.m. with no charge. It's a dream
There are 10 Peninsula hotels in the world, they are all 5-star facilities, where small rooms are banned, only suites.
In this article:
The hotels are located in Bangkok, Beijing, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Hong Kong, Manila, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
With an announcement on its official website, the chain announced that it is still improving the comfort, flexibility and overall experience of its guests through "Peninsula Time," which is a policy that will allow arrive earlier and leave later.
What the new check-in/out policy consists of
Starting in January 2021, guests at all Peninsula properties will be able to take advantage of Peninsula Time, a distinctive program that enables a fully flexible check-in and check-out experience.
With Peninsula Time, it will be possible to have the Room ready as early as 6:00 a.m. on the day of arrival and check out until 10:00 p.m. on the date of departure at no charge additional.
This benefit is given to all customers, even those without status, and who have booked indifferently on the chain's site or on an OTA.
"Especially now that traveling has become a bit more challenging, we know that extra time is one of the most meaningful gifts we can offer our guests," said Gareth Roberts, Group Director of Brand and Operations Support for The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited , owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels. "By allowing guests to arrive earlier and stay longer, we hope to offer them greater peace of mind and an even more personalized experience."
However, this is not the only change. Starting in January, all facilities will be plastic free, even the bath lines will be eco-friendly and supplied in 100% recyclable aluminum containers.
Much friendlier cancellation policies will also be implemented with the possibility of canceling a reservation until 3 p.m. the day before arrival. There will also be no shortage of offers for connecting rooms, generally used by families: discounts from 20% for the second room, plus free breakfast for all occupants.
In conclusion
Peninsula as we recounted In the Beijing facility review is an upscale chain, the new check-in/out policy is something never seen before, and we hope it will be copied by other hotels as well.
Certainly playing into this choice is the fact that facilities are unlikely to return to 100% occupancy rates, so the property can meet guest demands with little effort. On the client side, it can really represent a great opportunity, a godsend for us pleasure wanderers who know how difficult it is to get organized when arriving too early or leaving late.
