Finnair is also the official airline of Santa Claus.
Flying to Lapland from your couch
The project was developed in collaboration with a Finnish virtual reality studio using advanced 3D graphics techniques. Customers will therefore be able to access Christmas flights directly from home, from a computer, tablet or smartphone (but better on a smart TV, so they can fully enjoy the experience).
The trip includes spectacular images of the Northern Lights, the Arctic Circle, and even being able to "drink" a drink "on board," all for the duration of 30 minutes.
But how much does it cost?
The virtual reality flight offered by Finnair to visit Santa Claus costs €10 and can be purchased on the official website Shop.
The wonderful news is that the entire amount will be donated to UNICEF to help slow the spread of Covid-19 especially among children around the world.
"The timing couldn't be better for a VR vacation on the wings of Santa's official airline. We have been developing our virtual reality experience in Rovaniemi for more than a year now, and joining forces with Finnair is a fantastic way to reach a global audience with a seasonal message and a heart full of hope, " these are the words of Sanna Kärkkäinen, CEO of Visit Rovaniemi.
What better opportunity to entertain your children and have an unforgettable experience? In addition, the initiative is definitely for a good cause, with your virtual ticket you will help UNICEF and the world's less fortunate children.
