La Thailand opens its doors to the world, literally. Tourists will be able to visit the country, regardless of which nation (and thus Covid-19 status) they come from. Zero distinctions, then, all newcomers will have theSTV, or the newly amended special tourist visa.

This is an important step taken to help the tourism sector, which clearly went into crisis over this 2020 battering of the travel industry. It is, however, a reversal that does not entirely repudiate what has been done so far to protect the population. While one can indeed speak of a "free-for-all," considering free access, it has not abolished the mandatory quarantine.
The deputy government spokeswoman commented on the matter, Rachada Dhnadirek, who explained how all new entrants to the country are tied to a 14-day mandatory isolation period.
What is the STV visa
When we talk about STV, we are not referring to something completely new. Today's visa differs from the one previously in the number of people to whom it applies. Previously, the government had stipulated that authorization to enter the country should be granted only to passengers from locations deemed low-risk.
A plan quickly failed, considering the numbers recorded. To have taken advantage of the program had been, in fact, solely 825 people, for a total of 29 countries involved. A small number, to say the least, which certainly could not have provided the positive shake-up for the local tourism sector. It was also decided to intervene to help a particular Thai tourism sector, that related to the luxury world. In fact, the previous version of the STV had attracted only six yachts.
How is the situation in Thailand
The prime minister Prayut Chan-o stressed that Thailand is not experiencing a second wave of the Covid-19-related pandemic. There had been recent reports of a large group of positives in different regions, but it was explained that these were some Thais who had returned home illegally and then visited some places. All of this required several checks to be sure that others had not been infected.
In recent weeks a large number of hotel reservations have reportedly been canceled precisely because of the panic generated by such conflicting news. The prime minister therefore urged the population to remain calm for the sake of their economy.
Christmas 2020, can I go on vacation to Thailand?
