If you have always used your Esselunga's Fìdaty points (or Strawberry points) to "win" pots and pans know that you've been missing out. True: Esselunga's rewards catalog may be the best around, but there is a way to turn your points into experiences. And, therefore, into memories and emotions. How? By using them to travel, of course!

In this article we want to explain just that: how to accumulate Fìdaty points and, most importantly, how to spend them on something other than an item (or a free spa ticket).
What is the Esselunga Fìdaty Card
La Fìdaty Card of Esselunga is, as the name suggests, a very ordinary loyalty card.
There are three types: Fìdaty Card, Fìdaty Gold and Fìdaty Plus.
La Fìdaty Card comes Issued immediately at all Fìdaty Points in supermarkets and allows you to:
- Earn 2 points for every euro spent, over the threshold of 5 euros
- Have immediate discounts every day on hundreds of products
- Use the points to get a €27 Fìdaty Purchase Voucher, free with 3,000 points, spendable directly at checkouts
- Have reduced admission to the movie theater on Tuesday (excluding holidays)
La Fìdaty Gold is a free credit card, valid in Esselunga stores and online, with the following features:
- Is completely free of charge (no issuance, renewal, replacement or annual fees)
- is valid at Esselunga stores, Atlantic Bars, EsserBella Perfumeries and for online shopping at esselunga.co.uk and esserbellaprofumerie.co.uk
- contactless payments up to 25 euros
- Email or text message notification with each expenditure
- exclusive offers all year round
- Charge on the 15th of the following month
To obtain it requires approval from Fìdaty SpA and your own bank.
La Fìdaty Plus is an actual credit card, adhering to the Mastercard, which:
- Guarantees 10% more points than the Fìdaty Card (2 points for every €0.90, over €5 in spending)
- is contactless
- Is accepted all over the world
- has no fueling fees
The issuance and renewal cost is 23 euros, and the card must be activated online (www.cartafidatyplus.it) or by calling 800.176657.
How to accumulate Fìdaty points
The easiest way to accumulate Fìdaty points is, of course, shopping in Esselunga stores or on the supermarket's website. You should pay attention especially to the products that allow you to accumulate more points: these are the products marked as "Strawberry Extra" and you can spot them as easily on the shelf as online.
But not only that. Thanks to Esselunga partners, you can earn points by purchasing Pirelli tires in participating retailers: rims with diameter >19 give 3,000 points, rims with diameter 18 give 1,800, and rims with diameter 16-17 give 1,000.
In addition, it is possible:
- converting Q8 star points (500 Star points = 300 Fìdaty points)
- Get up to 2,500 points by signing a light, gas or light and gas contract with Eni
- Get up to 2,200 points by taking out a Europe Assistance policy to protect your pet
- Earn 2 points for every o,9 or 1 euro spent in Esserbella perfumeries
- Earn 2 points for every o,9 or 1 euro spent in Atlantic Bars
How to use Esselunga points to travel
We now come to the most interesting aspect: the conversion of Fìdaty points into Avios points. The exchange rate is 1:1: 1,000 points accumulated with Esselunga gives you 1,000 points to use in Avios programs . You simply go to the Fìdaty Point most convenient to you, giving your British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus or Vueling Club customer code, to request the conversion (keep in mind that it can take up to 40 days to be credited).
The main advantage of Avios points is that never expire. Or rather, they last 36 months but all it takes is any transaction that changes the portfolio, even if it is only by 1 avios, to renew the term for another 36 months.
Assuming you spend 100 euros a week in Esselunga supermarkets, you can accumulate about 1,000 points each month. In a year, you rarely accumulate less than 10/15k Avios points, without spending anything more than what you would normally spend.
