The hotel was created by the redevelopment and complete renovation of two former industrial complexes joined by a modern glass structure that houses the lobby and deliberately reinterprets the tradition of greenhouses and conservatories found throughout the area.
In this article:
It is a brand-new facility: opened in 2018 and consisting of 170 rooms, a conference center, a spa, and a rooftop pool on the structure, as incredible as the view of Lake Como.
Reservation
As always, you book only through the app, so you can take advantage of all the expected benefits of Hilton Honors status and earn the points related to the reservation.
Coincidentally, I visited the hotel on the last day the pool was open before the winter closure and found a really attractive rate, which earned me 4,781 HH points.
As you can see, paying for your stay with points varies, and by quite a bit: unfortunately, Hilton does not have a fixed price for the cost of rooms, which changes depending on the date and expected occupancy rate. It still starts from about 50k points to close to 200k. I personally would never pay this amount for this type of hotel, taking into account that with 197k HH points you can spend a minimum of two nights in a super resort in the Maldives.
The room
Getting around the hotel is not easy, or rather taking the wrong elevator forces you to circumnavigate the entire structure, which is arranged in a horseshoe shape.
Overall, the room is warm, finely furnished and generously sized. The mattress on the king bed is excellent.
Also welcoming us to the room was a sweet surprise, with a small box of chocolates.
The bathroom is also modern, with a walk-in tub and shower and a large sink area.
The only shortcoming of the rooms facing the inner garden is to have all the windows facing the other rooms and, as in our case, if you are on the top floor also be in view of the restaurant in the on the rooftop.
Pool and Spa
We did not have a chance to try the spa ,but I must say that the heated pool is definitely scenic. Enjoying relaxation after a day around the lake soaking in the warm water is absolutely a great service. Also interesting is the presence of a restaurant/bar that allows you to enjoy an aperitif by the pool.
Breakfast
The breakfast proposal is excellent. Gold members of the Hilton Honors loyalty program can get free breakfast, which very often corresponds to a savings of at least 20€ per person. I was pleased with the small buffet and the ability to order items a la carte.
In conclusion
Beautiful and moderately expensive facility, but we know the proximity to Switzerland and Lake Como does not make it a destination cheap. If you are passing through these parts, it is definitely a hotel to consider, however, paying cash not points.
