The iconic San Domenico Palace shines again thanks to Four Seasons. The property is built among the most striking sites in Europe with panoramic views of Mount Etna and the ancient Greek Theater. It stands on a strategic location, perched on a rocky promontory on the Ionian Sea, a true jewel to be known. Now, upon completion of renovation, the former 14th-century convent is officially the new Four Seasons Hotel Taormina.

The new Four Seasons Hotel in Taormina
Built on the site of a 14th-century Dominican convent, Hotel San Domenico was established in 1896 with the addition of a new Italian Art Nouveau building adjacent to the converted lodgings. A highlight of the Grand Tour, it was a favorite property of royalty, nobility and later Hollywood stars, artists and writers. Set in lush Italianate gardens with sweeping sea views, the hotel combines contemporary art with antiques and architectural relics. The culinary team is led by Sicilian executive chef Massimo Mantarro, whose unmistakable style is showcased at the award-winning Principe Cerami. Etna's rich terroir is the inspiration for a memorable culinary journey that is part of the offerings at Anciovi, a poolside restaurant, and Rosso, an all-day dining venue with a spectacular terrace.
The structure consists of. 111 rooms including rooms and suites, has a new beach club with restaurant and the bi-starred Principe Cerami restaurant. Also featured is a state-of-the-art spa with 7 treatment rooms and a cliffside infinity pool. For its summer reopening, the San Domenico Palace has launched a unique offer with a 20% discount on the standard rate provided for a room for two and breakfast with a minimum stay of two nights from November 2021.

The general manager who will lead the team is Lorenzo Maraviglia, returning home after assignments at Dubai and a career in the world of luxury hospitality. The goal is to rewrite a new chapter in the history of the San Domenico Palace. "We are overjoyed to reopen in the summer so that we can welcome our guests for an all-Sicilian vacation experience. The monuments of Taormina are at our doorstep and the ancient Greek Theater is just a short walk away as well as countless other historical sites to discover. In addition, the siren call of Isola Bella and Grotta Azzurra will be part of an exclusive yacht excursion, one of the tailor-made experiences we are planning for our guests," the director explained.
