When I am traveling and have time to explore, I always try to visit as many airport lounges as possible. Even though I travel in economy and therefore would not be entitled to access the VIP lounges. How? Thanks to my free priority pass card, which gives me access to thousands of lounges around the world. The KAL Lounge in Tokyo is one of them.

In this article:

    Lounge access

KAL lounges are owned by Korean and can be found at a great many international airports. Obviously the carrier's interest is to try to cash in as much as possible, which is why-when there are no Korean flights or the lounge is not too crowded-it is also opened to all priority pass holders.

In addition, being Korean SkyTeam member, you can access this lounge even if you have elite status from one of the many companies in this alliance. The lounge is located in Tokyo Narita Airport's Satellite 2 just a short walk from the Delta Sky Lounge that is recommended (and that we recommend) to Alitalia passengers.

The first thing that surprised us upon entering this lounge, which is for obvious reasons much smaller than that of the American airline, was that it was almost full. There are two reasons for the crowding: the presence of a plane on the tarmac ready to depart for Seoul, and the fact that the lounge is also open to holders of credit cards and cards such as Lounge Buddy and the like.

    Food & Beverage

As is often the case in these promiscuous lounges, that is, those that serve both business and elite passengers of a specific airline and certain card and credit card holders, finding good food is a gamble.

I must say, however, that although it was very crowded it was well stocked in both food and drink.

Of course, there can be no shortage of instant food boxes, so popular in this part of the world.

Also in this lounge were automatic beer tappers, which were very convenient since tilting the glass allows the user to have a pint without having to fight with the foam.

In general the offerings were adequate, but since it was crowded in the end we preferred to move and return to the quieter and more beautiful Delta Sky Lounge.

    In conclusion

At major airports, as in this case, it is difficult to be disappointed by lounges. This is where the most important passengers of all the world's airlines pass through, so it is necessary to serve and pamper them in order not to lose them to the competition. To have a term of comparison, you can Poking around inside the Delta Sky Lounge Of the same airport.

What I have just told myself remains my last experience in a lounge of this size before the pandemic. Now everything has changed, as I witnessed in my visit to the BA lounge last December And in some ways I don't regret the old days at all.
