Virgin Voyages has unveiled the name of the third cruise ship that will join its newest fleet. It will be called Resilient Lady and will sail from Athens, Greece, in the summer of 2022, offering seven-night cruises around the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. Waiting to debut its first ship, the company has already unveiled some details of Resilient Lady more than a year after what will be its first journey.

Work is currently proceeding in an advanced state at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente dock. The Resilient Lady will join sister ships Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. Virgin Voyages will exclusively schedule adult-only cruises and aims to have a fleet of four ships by 2023.
Resilient Lady, the itinerary of Virgin Voyages' third ship.
The overarching theme driving the construction of Virgin Voyages' third ship is collective resilience. The Resilient Lady reflects the strength of the company's past and the power of the future that lies ahead. Particularly honored is the strength of women who, in a year filled with adversity, have been challenged to rise up with even more perseverance and passion by representing 67% of the global healthcare workforce.
The ship will reportedly depart from the port of Piraeus (Athens), Greece, for a seven-day itinerary that includes island-to-island excursions in the Adriatic, nights in Croatia and overnight stays in Mykonos. Also on the schedule are stops at the beautiful Greek islands of Santorini, Rhodes, Chania (Souda) and Crete. Then the cruise ship will head to Dubrovnik, Croatia (with a late-night stay), Kotor, Montenegro, and then on to the beautiful Greek islands of Corfu and Argostoli.
The no-underage ship will be home to a team of Michelin-starred chefs and will feature more than 20 restaurants, a spa, a yoga gym and a full outdoor gym to keep fit while sailing. In keeping with the Virgin atmosphere, passengers will also find a record store and two nightclubs aboard the ship. "Sailing in the Mediterranean is an amazing experience and we are really excited to bring the adventure of a Virgin Voyage to these beautiful places," said Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group who then added, "I am so proud of the incredible work done by the team to present 'Resilient Lady.'"
Scarlet Lady's problems
The debut of Virgin Voyages has definitely been complicated and delayed due to the pandemic. Launch plans were originally scheduled for April 2020, but have been delayed ever since. From May 9 to June 30, 2021, all departures of the cruise line's first ship, the Scarlet Lady, have been canceled. All passengers can choose between a full refund and the so-called "Double Your Value Option." This is an option that allows you to give a credit of 200% of the amount paid and you can use it for one of the cruises scheduled for 2022.
The Scarlet Lady was delivered on February 14, 2020. After leaving the port of Sestri Ponente, she had embarked on a presentation tour, which was canceled after the stop in England. In contrast, the Valiant Lady, the second ship in the fleet, is scheduled to debut in November with cruises departing from Barcelona.
