Hotels near airports can be a great way to stay safe before a scheduled early morning flight, or perfect for resting if you arrive late in the evening. They are also the typical destination where you are parked when a flight is canceled by an airline.

Except in rare cases they are never particularly designer facilities since they are really dedicated to a clientele that will stay one night, sometimes even a few hours. This, however, is not the case at the Sheraton Milano Malpensa, which thanks to its location is the closest facility to the Varese airport.
Reservation
This facility is a category 5 in the program allegiance Marriott Bonvoy, this means that staying with points can cost between 30k and 50k points per night. In my case, since I was leaving for a business trip to the U.S., the room was booked and paid for by my company and therefore no points or benefits other than those included in the rate. The cost of a "classic" is 147 euros with breakfast, a price absolutely in line with the high standard. Compared to other chains that have hotels in the Malpensa area, the rate has not changed due to the covid and the scarcity of passengers.

Review on the fly (writing in The Flight Club fits!) for the Sheraton Hotel at Malpensa Airport, with the convenience of being directly in Terminal 1, just steps from the boarding gates.
First test for Il Canneto restaurant almost obligatory, given the limitations of the Covid emergency.
Test largely passed with a 38 euro dinner for two courses (appetizer with buffalo and lasagna with meat sauce) plus water and coffee.
Not only because of the wide spacing, all prevention protocols were followed to the letter, and that gave me a good feeling.
The room
Positive feeling that continues in the room.
Very spacious room and especially well prepared for this decidedly complex period. Naturally sanitized and with extensive use of sealed bags, as evidenced in the pictures: not only for the bathroom linens (the large shower is a nice plus) and for the coffee products, but also for the TV remote control (really good choice!).
Special note of merit for the curtains that perfectly protect from daylight, unfortunately, it does not always happen that way. The soundproofing of the doors could be improved (otherwise, silence is quite guaranteed), but touching on this issue, for most hotels, is like breaking down an open door, precisely...
In conclusion
The Sheraton is generally a great way to be ready to take off from Malpensa. Our advice is to sign up for the Bonvoy program and take advantage of the many promotions that give away stays in facilities around the world.
