We had already talked about it, now the International Air Transport Association's Travel Pass seems to be beginning to come to life thanks to Singapore Airlines.
In this article:
IATA, which represents 290 airlines, had been one of the first to propose the establishment of a Travel Pass, that is, a Health Passport that allows you to plot with ease all passengers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or who have undergone swab before traveling, in such a way as to streamline the checks before travel and especially to increase the level of safety during travel.
Singapore Airlines has received the okay from IATA and will be the first airline to test the application for smartphones. The test will begin for travelers from Singapore to London, and then later expand the service.
How IATA's Travel Pass works
Currently the application is only available for Apple iOS devices but a version for Android will also be released soon. To access the service, it will be necessary to create a Digital ID with the information reported on the passport.
Afterwards, it is possible to book a swab For Covid-19 at one of the clinics conventioned with Singapore Airlines through a dedicated portal, which is accessed with credentials from the app.
The result of the test will be notified directly from the app: once it has ascertained the failure, the app will "unlock" the flight and it will be possible to show the check-in the smartphone or tablet with verification of actual negativity.
IATA assures that sensitive data will not be stored in any database outside, but will be saved only and exclusively at theinside Of the app itself and thus inside our smartphone.
"The first phase of testing helped support SIA's push for a safe and convenient industry standard for verifying passenger outcomes including their vaccination status going forward.
This gives us confidence that in the second phase we can further simplify the verification process for eventual integration into SIA's mobile application. This will help provide a hassle-free digital solution for our customers in the new normal and achieve a smoother travel experience."

Will Italy adopt the Health Passport?
Just in these weeks, even in Europe there is turmoil, after the United Kingdom adopted the Health Passport through theVeryFLY App, the EU also does not want to be left behind.
European Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen announced in a Tweet that a bill To regulate the adoption of a European Digital Green Pass.
Italy is also at work, the only condition it has set is to collaborate on a joint project European and not by the initiative of individual states, in such a way as to uniform even laws to protect the privacy Of users.
Therefore, we hope that the vaccinations resume in full swing and for the Passport to become a reality, so at least we could save the summer season and travel more peacefully.
