How to sleep (for example) at Conrad Maldives for free instead of spending 1000$ per night
When buying Hilton points, it means saving thousands for a super vacation

In recent months we have had the opportunity to talk about Of the many promotions designed from airlines and hotels to cash in on fresh money during a period of no travel and stay.
In this article:
One of the most classic ways is to Sell points from various loyalty programs, a practice whose pros and cons we have explained, today we want to bring you back some cases where it can be a real bargain. For example, when you buy points at a bargain price and immediately use them to book a stay or flight having the certainty of finding the award place or hotel room.
Hilton Honors promotion, double points and doubled limit
Today we are talking about a Hilton Honors Promotion, valid until mid-May, which allows you to buy twice as many points as normally allowed each year (160k instead of 80k) and simultaneously gives away 100% of the points bought to each user.
This means that by buying at least 10k HH. you will get as many points. The standard cost of 10$ per 1,000 points in this way is halved: in fact, it is possible to buy 50k points and receive an additional 50k bonus points by paying only 500$.
A practical example of how to save money by taking advantage of this promotion is quickly done.
Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
This structure is one of the most iconic and cherished in the Hilton portfolio all over the world and like all Conrad hotels is among the most exclusive and luxurious. Most famous for its underwater restaurant where you can literally dine surrounded by the fish that inhabit the Indian Ocean.
Sleeping at this resort costs from 550$ in low season, but in high season it goes up to over 1,000$ per night for basic accommodation in a Beach Front Villa.
In the example given, you can see how a stay of 5 nights, in December 2021, would have an indicative cost of more than 5,600$, while the 5 nights, if paid for with points and thanks to the 5th night free rule, would cost only 380k points, i.e. 76k points per night.
On balance thanks to the current promo buying 160k points (which becomes 320k with the bonus) 1,600$ would be spent with a savings of more than 3,000$ For the same stay and with the same characteristics.
Obviously this example is the worst case scenario, since if you stay in Hilton family hotels and take advantage of the the various promotions, it is easy to accumulate tens of thousands of points with very few stays. So in my case that I currently have about 300k points I would have to buy less than 40k points to have enough HH to book this stay by spending a few tens.
On the contrary, reservations with points are absolutely flexible and, in the case of the Hilton chain, do not hide extra figures that the guest will have to bear separately.
In conclusion
This promotion is interesting because it halves the cost of Hilton points, from about 8.30 per 1,000 points to just over 4.15. So a value of just over 4 cents per point.
It can therefore also be a strategy for a new customer to book a stay and, instead of paying the full rate, take advantage of the benefits generated by paying for the reservation with points.
