MeliáRewards is Meliá Hotels International's loyalty program launched in July 2018. How MeliàRewards works
As anticipated the program has four levels and for each there are certain benefits and privileges. What is important to note is that for each level there are different ratios of points to euros spent on reservations. Obviously, a certain number of stays and bookings made are needed to move up from one level to the next. Here is how the program is structured:
- White: 10 points for every €/$ of the total reservation
- Silver 11 points for each €/$ of the total reservation
- Gold 13 points for each €/$ of the total reservation
- Platinum 14 points for every €/$ of the total reservation
The level White guarantees 2,000 welcome points, birthday surprise during the stay, and access to SPAs, facilities, services and partner companies with the possibility of additional discounts and benefits. Finally, there is exclusive online pre check-in and priority access upon arrival at the hotel with online check-in.
At the level Silver are added, in addition to White's benefits, free breakfast and free wi-fi. For the profile Gold also included are 3 discount vouchers of 20% on subsequent stays, late check-out so you can leave your room at a significantly more comfortable time, and priority access upon arrival at the hotel. Finally, holders of the Platinum can also enjoy room upgrades and access to lounges in hotels and lounges at more than 900 airports with Priority Pass. After 10 consecutive years of Platinum level, MeliàRewards offers the opportunity to achieve Platinum For Life status.
How to reach different enrollment states
The 4 different membership statuses are obtained depending on the number of stays, number of nights, or number of points accumulated. In each, the status is valid for one year. White status is obtained at registration, while to reach the other levels there are certain conditions:
- Silver - 5 nights, 2 stays or after accumulating 10,000 points
- Gold - 30 nights, 15 stays or 60,000 points
- Platinum - 50 nights, 30 stays or 150,000 points
- Platinum for Life - 500 nights and maintained Platinum status for ten consecutive years.
Keep in mind that Meliá is the only program that remembers your birthday. You are usually offered a gift based on your status level (e.g., discounts for future stays) or room upgrades. In addition, every time you book a room with The Level, RedLevel, ME +, Family Concierge or Royal Service services, you will receive 20% extra points.
The points Meliá Rewards expire only in the absence of activity. If more points have been accumulated or used during the year, the expiration date will be changed according to the last transaction made. All types of rooms can be booked with points, but keep in mind that Meliá limits the number of availability. Another important aspect when redeeming points is. Meliá also uses dynamic tables, that is, one must have a minimum number of points for the cheapest room in each hotel. For a three-star you need at least 11 thousand points, and for a four-star 14 thousand. All Inclusive Sol Hotels provide booking through Rewards only with 25 thousand points. Unlike other hotel programs, at Meliá you cannot get a fifth night free and you cannot pay for an upgrade with points.
The gold level thanks to American Express Platinum
American Express Platinum benefits include. there is free membership to the Melià Rewards Gold level. Normally to gain access to this program, guests must have made 15 stays or overnight stays totaling 30 nights. With American Express Platinum you have access to a fast track that then allows you to have certain benefits included:
- Late check out at 4 p.m. in City Hotels and 2 p.m. in Resort Hotels (except in the case of 100% occupancy)
- Earn 13 Melià Rewards points for every € spent on reservations
- Free Wi-Fi
- 2,000 welcome Meliá Rewards points upon initial enrollment
