Ryanair invests in Sicily for summer 2021: more than 200 weekly flights and 6 new routes

Ryanair continues to invest in Italy ahead of the summer of 2021, which it hopes will revive the tourism industry in Europe and around the world. L'Falcone-Borsellino airport will be at the center of the project, as evidenced by the recent announcement by the Irish low-cost airline, which is poised to enhance its flight schedule with as many as 40 destinations. These include space for six new additions.

There has been much talk about Sicily in recent weeks, as well as Italian islands in general. Since the Covid-free to the red zones affecting both the region governed by Musumeci and Sardinia, wanting to mention another attractive tourist resort ready to restart from summer 2021.

Ryanair, new flights and routes

Ryanair has unveiled its new summer schedule, which confirms a strong commitment to the city of Palermo, a crucial hub for the carrier. The plan includes. more than 200 flights per week. Forty total routes and here are the six new ones announced:

• Alghero: two flights per week (Monday and Friday)
• Cagliari: two flights per week (Thursday and Sunday)
• Wedge: two flights per week (Wednesday and Saturday)
• Lviv: two flights per week (not yet announced)
• Rimini: two flights per week (Friday and Sunday)
• Seville: two flights per week (Tuesday and Saturday)

Flights can already be booked through the company's official website and beyond. The new routes are all twice-weekly and flights will be launched from July 2021, with the exception of Cagliari. The Sardinian destination will allow bookings one month in advance, starting in June. Of key importance is the ability to connect Falcone-Borsellino airport with some of Europe's major destinations, such as London.

Summer offer

The vaccination process is continuing, and more and more bookings are expected in the coming months. The United Kingdom has already set a good example in this regard. The statistics are set to improve week by week, and Ryanair knows this well.
