There is a lot of talk about Green Pass, critical for travel to Europe, as well as for marriages. One of the crucial elements of the post-Covid-19 restart process. The green light will be given on the1 July and, surprising as it may be, many still have no idea what it is, specifically.
In this article:
It is a certificate attesting to one's condition. A way to confirm in a few moments that you have been vaccinated or not, that you have been cured of Covid and present the relevant antibodies or, in the absence of all that, that you have received a recent swab with a negative result. A pass that can be exploited in digital or paper form. In the former case, a QRCode, which can be found just about anywhere, explained the Minister Colao. In the second case, work is being done with Sogei, the IT company of the Treasury, to identify alternative tools to those linked to smartphones and tablets, so as to meet the needs of the entire population.
Green Pass, timing and how it works
Early launch in early June has been ruled out. The entire system will be ready to go by the 15th of next month, which will leave two weeks to release the necessary information to the public. The possibility of bringing it forward by about ten days is being discussed but, as of today, seems unlikely. There are timeframes to be met, especially in relation to the ongoing discussion of European standards, as well as authorizations from the Privacy Authority.
It will be a real pass, which will revolutionize travel arrangements in this second pandemic phase: "With this certificate I will not have to undergo quarantine or submit to possible restrictions, should the scenarios change." However, the minister wanted to emphasize an important point. This is not a passport. It is a certificate that you must always Accompany with a valid identification document, in case of inspections.
It should be pointed out that this is not exclusive to those who have already received the vaccine or those who have left Covid-19 behind and developed antibodies. It is also possible to obtain the Green Pass with a simple swab, taken within the previous hours. It goes without saying that this incurs a cost and also ensures a more limited period of validity of the pass.
How to get it
If there is anything that the pandemic has made very clear, it is the need to digitize the country. Still many frown upon hearing about SPID, looking around with confused area. It is undeniable, however, how the web represents the preferred route to the Green Pass that it will be possible to get via IO app (you will receive a notification). The app has been downloaded by about 11 million Italians. Still a small number, considering the 60 million citizens in the country.
Alternatives will have to be worked on, also considering how it is essential to have a SPID (digital identity) to access the app. This could be linked to the electronic ID card or tax code, so as to meet the needs of everyone, including minors (for whom SPID is not accessible). Sogei could also work on a new site, which could be used to download the Green Pass. This would still be under construction. A digital medium but more accessible to the "less up-to-date."
