For the second year in a row, Germany is giving up theOktoberfest. A world-famous event and, in fact, the largest festival dedicated to beer. Just as happened in 2020, the 2021 edition has also been officially cancelled. This was announced by the Bavarian premier Markus Soeder After meeting with mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter. A blow to fans and workers in the industry, considering the impact such an event has on the tourism front. But the fear of an outbreak got the better of them.

Germany renounces folk festivals
Cancelled, for the second year in a row, one of the symbols of tourism in Monaco. However, Oktoberfest is not the only popular festival affected by Covid-19, in 2021 as in last year. According to Markus Soeder, a safe approach will also be opted for for other events on the Bavarian calendar.
Months of general shutdown, with the tourism sector in dire straits. In this scenario, being able to accept an illustrious cancellation such as this one is certainly not easy. Before the pandemic, Oktoberfest used to Aggregate more than six million people each year. An event of immense proportions that would put Germany's overall health at risk. Net of a less than rapid vaccination process, the authorities preferred to avoid risks of this caliber.
Oktoberfest in Dubai
Deleted the two weeks dedicated to beer in Munich. Germany will still give up its iconic festival. Added to this, however, is an indiscretion that is infuriating those in the industry, as well as fans.
According to reports in the "Bild," concrete consideration is being given to moving theOktoberfest in Dubai. A copy of the celebration would find space at theExpo 2020, postponed for one year because of Covid.
The press emphasizes how it would be a separate organization. In the United Arab Emirates celebrations would be kicked off on Oct. 7, 2021, at noon. There would be 32 tents tapped for the event, with a total of 420,000 square meters. All this in one of the city's most prominent neighborhoods, Dubai marina.
Other than two weeks. Should all this be confirmed, the party will continue for a total of six months, from noon to midnight. An ambitious project to say the least, costing about 50 million euros. The confirmation came from Charles Blume, head of the Christmas market in Berlin and among the organizers of Dubai's Oktoberfest: "Alcohol will be allowed on the festival grounds, but participants will have to take shuttle buses back to their hotels. They will not be allowed to walk around the city. It is a useful compromise to respect the Emirati culture."
The news made the rounds in Germany and around the world, meeting with harsh judgment from the City of Munich's Department of Labor and Economy: "Oktoberfest takes place exclusively in Munich. The Dubai festival is not organized on behalf of or with the consent of the city of Munich."
A copy without the approval of the city of origin, then. No less interest is expected, however. Space for a giant Ferris wheel, a replica of the Bavarian statue and distinguished guests: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ralf Moller, Pamela Anderson, Lothar Matthaus, Steven Seagel and, reports the "Bild," even Adriano Celentano.
