Is it possible to travel to the United States? Current regulations and Biden's plan

When will we be able to travel back to the United States? Is there a timetable for the Reopening the doors to tourists from Europe? Questions that many are asking, especially as the European Union seems inclined to facilitate the arrival of American travelers.
In this article:
This is evidenced by the words of Ursula von der Layen, president of the European Commission. Interviewed by the New York Times, she explained, "American citizens are using vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency. This will allow freedom of movement and travel in the European Union. One thing is clear. All 27 member states will accept, unconditionally, anyone who has been inoculated with Ema-approved vaccines."
Is it possible to travel to the United States?
It is currently not possible for Italians and others to travel to the United States. It is still Suspended the possibility of entry on the soil of North America. This refers specifically to anyone who has set foot in one of the Schengen area countries (including Italy) in the previous 14 days, as well as in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, China, India or Iran.
A ban has also been imposed on all tourists who intend to drive within U.S. borders from Canada or Mexico. A rule, the latter, valid until at least May 21, 2021. There are, however, some exceptions to the entry ban. These refer exclusively to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, family members of the latter, and diplomatic visa holders. Also added to this list are holders or applicants for certain types of visas who may possibly fall into the category of "national interest" entries. One's case will be reviewed by the U.S. Embassy and consulates on Italian soil.
Biden ready to remove ban
There is no official confirmation of this, but--according to a variety of U.S. sources--it is possible that the Biden administration is seriously considering removing the ban imposed on travelers from Europe.
Good for the U.S. economy as we head into summer. A sigh of relief for the many travelers ready to leave after months of confinement and deprivation. The president would be assessing the situations currently in the 27 countries of the European Union, in the United Kingdom and in Brazil, and then make a decision. It seems that by the end of May the situation may finally be unblocked.
The U.S. government sees the next few weeks as crucial in drawing conclusions about the vaccine process on our continent. It seems hard to imagine that one country or another can be excluded from the mix. If there is a green light, it will cover the EU in its entirety.
It is clear that there is a desire in the U.S. to revive the tourism industry to pre-pandemic rates. This is evidenced by the fact that New York says it is ready, and not the first city to do so, to administer single-dose vaccines to tourists. All thanks to mobile hubs placed near famous attractions.
According to reports in recent weeks by CNBC, the Biden administration was confidently looking to mid-May to make a decision. To date, nothing has been scheduled, and it is easy to see how any decision on the matter could slip by the end of the month, also easing restrictions with Canada and Mexico.
