How about a tour around the world?
It is the proposal of Viking Ocean Cruises which launched the longest world cruise ever conceived: the circumnavigation of the globe will take place in 245 days at sea, 59 countries to be discovered and 6 continents.
Viking Sun, the cruise that takes you around the world
The ship chosen for the occasion is the Viking Sun, fourth ship built for Viking by Fincantieri and inaugurated in 2017 in Ancona.
It is not a very large ship; in fact, it is rather restrained compared to the giants of competing companies. The tonnage is about 48 thousand tons, 228 meters long, and the maximum capacity is 930 passengers, excluding crew members.
Le 473 cabins passengers all have sea views with private balcony, there are also spacious suite, two swimming pools (including an overflow at the stern) and of course SPA area and wellness With sauna.
Particular attraction of the "snow cave" ,a real cave inside which temperatures are below zero and you can dabble in a snowball war.
The journey
Viking Sun makes a stop in 113 ports, departure is from London and from there the coasts of England (Dover, Dublin, Liverpool, Holyhead, Belfast, Edinburgh), then Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland.
We then set off for New York and the United States all the way down to the Caribbean and theAmerica southern, first down to Tierra del Fuego and then back up to Chile, Peru, and the west coast of the US.
From San Diego, the cruise will continue to Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia's east coast before heading into the Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and India.
The next stop will be the Middle East with Oman, Jordan and Egypt continuing through the Suez Canal to arrive in the Mediterranean, with stops in Italy (in Cagliari), Malta, Spain, Tunisia and Algeria.
This brings you to the Strait of Gibraltar, where you sail up the Portuguese coast and then back to London.
And these are just some of the highlights of Viking's around-the-world cruise.
