What is special, however, is that unlike the MXP/SIN flight in this case the connection is part of a fifth freedom flight, like the one that Emirates operates from Dubai to New York with a stopover in Malpensa. You take off from Rome, land in the Danish capital, and then depart for Singapore.
The departure from Rome of flight SQ351 will be at 8:35 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday with arrival the following day in Singapore at 6 a.m. The return flight takes off from Singapore at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday with arrival in Rome at 10:35 a.m. the same morning.
As a reminder, Singapore's borders currently are among the most closed in the entire world, although some tentative signs of reopening are beginning to come, and certainly this linkage goes in that direction.
The company has also decided to put on sale only the route between Italy and Denmark, a flight that will be made on the same plane that will then continue the journey to Singapore with fares starting at just over €140.
The flight will be operated with Airbus A350/900, or the flagship of the company's fleet that belongs to the Star Alliance, configured in the 3 flight classes: economy, premium and business. Thus, it will be possible to fly between Italy and Denmark on a plane with total comfort at the price of any low-cost flight.
Dale Woodhouse, General Manager Italy of Singapore Airlines, said, "We are delighted to resume our flights from Rome just as we celebrate our 50th anniversary in Italy. Also, for the first time, Italian travelers will be able to experience the convenience of traveling on Singapore Airlines' A350 wide-body aircraft from Rome to Copenhagen to explore the wonders of Denmark and the Nordic countries. The resumption of flights reaffirms our commitment to Italy, and we hope that travel demand will steadily improve, especially as global vaccinations proceed."
For the more curious, you will also be able to fly in one of the world's most award-winning business classes for a flight of just over 2 hours.
How to book with miles
