If we go, particularly at this time, abroad on a trip and are asked to present a certificate stating that we have health insurance, we need to remember that our credit card, especially if it is a Platinum American Express, already contains a significant and completely free insurance package.

When coverage is valid and when it is invalid

The terms and conditions of insurance related to Amex cards do not exclude Covid, thus treating it as any disease/accident that can be contracted while traveling.

There is one very important though, if you travel for NON-essential reasons to a country where for the Italian government you cannot travel for leisure or tourism the coverage will not be operational. This means that if I decide to travel to Thailand today, as the Asian country is on the list of destinations allowed for tourism even from Italy, there is no problem. If on the contrary I leave for Brazil, I will have no coverage in case of injury/illness of any kind.
