The experience for all frequent flyers in transit through the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. is set to change completely, as of yesterday the brand new Air France lounge in terminal 2F of the Paris airport, the one dedicated to Schengen flights, opened its doors.
In this article:
Pictured is the entrance to the new lounge that we captured just a few weeks ago, when we also had the "good fortune" of Review one of the two lounges that will be replaced by the one that opened yesterday.
A momentous change in the level of service, this lounge is comparable perhaps only to the one that KLM offers passengers in its Amsterdam hub, but the difference is that here we are talking about a hall located in a terminal area designated for domestic or intra-EU flights and not for wealthy intercontinental flight passengers.
The new lounge at terminal 2F
Dedicated to Business customers, Flying Blue members and SkyTeam Elite Plus who travel on Air France's short- and medium-haul Schengen network, this lounge is one of the airline's largest, with an area of 3,000 square meters and 570 seats spread over two levels.
The company describes the hall as an oasis of peace and serenity in the heart of the airport, the lounge, with its characteristic curves and relaxed atmosphere, is open, airy and simple. There is something for everyone, depending on the time the customer has before boarding to rest, refresh, work or enjoy something to eat and drink. The furnishings are solid and functional, designed to provide optimal comfort. Air France's signature colors are highlighted - shades of blue, a strong presence of white, and a hint of red - as well as the accent, the Air France brand symbol, and the winged seahorse, the company's historical symbol, reminding us of its rich history.

After crossing a walkway designed as a transitional entrance, airline customers are greeted by the Air France team at the lounge entrance. To ensure fluidity, kiosks allow passengers to scan their boarding pass and enter the lounge directly. Luggage storage and a showcase offering Air France Shopping travel accessories are also available.
Welcoming guests is a giant sculpture that connects the reception and lounge areas. This artwork, inspired by the wings of an airplane, symbolizes flight, technology and the avant-garde. It reinforces the "cocoon" spirit that dominates the lounge.
In the center un enormous curved window overlooking the sky and airport runways dominates the entire space and lets in the light that illuminates the lounge, without dazzling the eye. A dedicated Flying Blue Ultimate client area, accessible directly from the reception, offers fully personalized service and has its own private lounges.
In terms of dining offerings, gourmet kiosks are located on each level and, with a coppery champagne color, promote the sophistication and conviviality of French cuisine. Catering offerings change throughout the day. Mini sandwiches, salads, and hot quiches are always available for a quick snack. There is also a dedicated counter with pancakes in the morning, daily dishes prepared by a chef at lunch, as well as an aperitif service. Cheeses and desserts round out this offering designed in the spirit of a French bistro. The wine list, selected by Paolo Basso, best sommelier in the world in 2013, also offers a wide selection of champagnes. Finally, a large "detox" area that has a relaxing atmosphere and a wide range of herbal teas.
In an eco-responsible approach, Air France favors regional and seasonal products. In addition, to limit the use of single-use plastic, the airline provides its customers with water fountains throughout the lounge. Special attention is also paid to selective sorting and recycling of all food services.
In the center of the lounge, a giant staircase welcomes guests and invites them to discover the upper floor and enjoy the view of the runway.
Upstairs, take some time to recharge your batteries
Travelers with more leisure time will find relaxation areas on the upper floor. There is a dedicated area with large, comfortable loungers and soft lighting for relaxing in a cozy atmosphere. Comfortable reclining seats also allow guests to enjoy the unique view of the slopes in peace.
A Clarins treatment area offers guests the opportunity to discover the new concept of Traveller Spa . Express beauty or radiance treatments, customized 20-minute facials are available to get ready on the fly. Finally, a wellness area with ten showers and a changing room is also available. An ideal way to recharge your batteries between flights.
In conclusion
With this new opening making a stopover in Paris becomes almost a must, whereas before it was better to avoid.
