Italy is grappling with the Green Pass to be shown whenever one intends to access an indoor area of a public or private nature. From restaurants to transportation, it is required to have a digital or paper version of the certificate with you. Alternatively, it is also possible to show the result of a negative swab, valid for 48 hours.
In this article:
A certification active not only in Italy. Anyone who wants to travel to France, for example, will have to read carefully the restrictions imposed by the pass sanitaire.
Pass sanitaire, the French Green Pass
As of July 21, access to places capable of registering an attendance of more than 50 people is restricted by possession of a vaccination pass. Since Aug. 1, however, this system has also encompassed bars, restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals, nursing homes, medical and social institutions, airplanes, trains and buses, among others.
The method of obtaining the sanitaire pass is almost identical to that in force in Italy:
- Full course of vaccination (for at least 14 days)
- recovery from Covid-19
- negative swab valid 48 hours
The vaccination process, however, has not progressed with the same timelines for all social groups. The French government, therefore, had to consider this and confirm a postponement for the mandatory sanitaire pass. Until August 30, the following categories will have no limitations:
- subjects of age 12 to 17 years old: for them, vaccination began in June, which offered little time for inoculation of all young people by July 21
- employees of places and establishments open to the public: those who did not receive the second dose would be required to take a swab every other day. There was, however, an obligation for them to take the first dose by August 1
The big difference from the Italian system is theInability to obtain a Green Pass with a single dose of vaccine. You must be able to show that you have received a full cycle for at least 14 days. The only exception is Johnson & Johnson, which requires a single inoculation.
Green Pass: the places affected
A Green Pass is not required to circulate. This form of protection is activated only in situations where there is a risk of assemblage. A description that applies mainly to indoor areas, but not only. Just think of any outdoor concerts, access to which will certainly be restricted. Here are some useful examples:
- Halls for auditions, lectures and performances
- marquees
- arcades
- commercial establishments intended for exhibitions
- Outdoor establishments different from zoological, amusement and theme parks
- indoor sports establishments
- Cultural, festive and sporting events in public spaces susceptible to access controls
In no case does the control of the QR Code present on one's certificate will allow the dissemination of one's data. This is guaranteed by the app TousAntiCovid Verif, exploited by employees.
The estimated times are to have access to the Green Pass are as follows:
- 2 weeks after the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca
- 2 weeks after the first dose in subjects with a history of Covid
- 4 weeks after the single injection of Johnson & Johnson
The fines
The risk of fines is very high and affects merchants as much as workers. Managers of commercial establishments, as well as public entertainment establishments, can incur penalties of up to 45 thousand euros in case of failure to control, to one year imprisonment. Added to this is the possible administrative closure.
Different is the case for workers, whose employment contracts will be suspended if they fail to comply with the vaccination requirement. A suspension that could last until the end of the vaccination program. Thereafter, in case of continued refusal to vaccinate, dismissal could be triggered. This is monitored by employers, who are held accountable.
