After more than 16 months of closure British Airways has reopened the two most exclusive of all the lounges it operates, we are talking about the Concorde Rooms at London Heatrow and New York JFK. The Concorde Rooms are the VIP lounges dedicated to first-class passengers and holders of the status higher in the Executive program, or the British carrier's frequent flyer.
In this article:
The British company in its main port of London Heathrow operates 3 different lounge levels: Galleries that are dedicated to business class passengers and to Silver level holders in the BA loyalty program, or the equivalent for the Oneworld alliance. Passengers who hold the Gold level can instead access the First Galleries. regardless of travel class. Those traveling first class can access the concorde room, a privilege that is also reserved for Gold Guest List holders, which is the highest elite level in the British Airways loyalty program.
These 16 months of closure have also brought some news, of the closure of the SPA present in the lounge we have already written, today it is instead time to talk about what new will be found by the most important passengers of the official carrier of the British royal family.
To toast the reopening of its two Concorde Rooms, British Airways hired Mr. Lyan, a World's Best Bar Award-winning bartender known for experimenting with pollen in drinks. Lyan created two exclusive cocktails: the "Barton" and the "Lawford," both inspired by "wind-pollinated flavors," giving them an aviation theme.
Both proposals will also be served in BA's other VIP rooms so that all guests can savor them.
The new sleeping pods
When we reviewed the lounges of BA. we had a chance to try out the famous sleeping pods., or the seats designed especially for those who want to take a nap in the utmost relaxation. Concorde Rooms will see the debut of the new model even more comfortable and suitable for the perfect nap while waiting for the flight.
The seats can be reserved, and an attendant will wake up the passenger by serving a hot drink and other small treats to sweeten the moment of awakening.
In conclusion
A new, small sign of a return to normalcy. Other airlines have also reopened their first-class lounges. Air France did, Lufthansa did. Slowly we move back toward a new normal.
