ITA Airways' Volare program. is not yet operational that the fledgling Italian flag carrier has already implemented the first strategy to quickly accumulate members, viz. a status match offer.
What is status match

- Korean Air - SKYPASS Club
- Lufthansa - Miles & More
- Middle East Airlines - Cedar Miles
- Qatar Airways - Privilege Club
- Royal Jordanian - Royal Club
- Saudia - Alfursan
- Singapore Airlines - KrisFlyer
- Swiss Air - Miles & More
- TAP - Miles & Go
- Tarom - Sky Team
- Turkish Airlines - Miles & Smile
- United Airlines - Mileage plus
The new status will be recognized in ITA systems as soon as the matching process is completed, and members will receive an e-mail service notice confirming this recognition by Dec. 31.
The new status will be valid for one year from the date of activation.
In conclusion
ITA's strategy is clear. Not only does he want to Take back all Alitalia frequent flyers immediately, but by making a similar status match proposal, open to all major premium airlines flying into Italy and for which no challenge is required, the marketing department wants to create as rich a database as possible.
