It can hardly be said that at New York lack scenic spots, but SUMMIT One Vanderbilt promises to be different. And to deliver a true experience in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. So much so that, from the very beginning, it entered rightfully among the must see Of the Big Apple.
From the top of the gleaming new skyscraper above Grand Central Terminal near the heart of New York City, visitors to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt will be able to see the iconic skyline In a whole new way. At right, a rare aerial view of Bryant Park. At left, the scalloped dome of the Chrysler Building with its art deco style. To the south, the World Trade Center, rising at the tip of Manhattan; to the north, Central Park. And, farther still, the winding hills of the Hudson Valley.
Stepping onto the new deck will be like being at the center of the world. Not only that, here you will be able to experience the Transcendence, a stunning space that reflects and "bends" the skyline, disorienting visitors. A unique sensation that no other observation deck comes close to. After all, the location itself is extraordinary. The 6,000-square-foot terrace skims the top of a 317-meter-tall skyscraper. The icons of New York look as big as a Lego brick, and you can see helicopters whiz past in front of your eyes.

Reservation and costs
SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is not the tallest observation deck in New York City, which is that of One World Trade Center. Nor is it the tallest outdoor deck (the record belongs to the Edge at Hudson Yards). However, it is the most spectacular. Only here is it possible to enter the Levitation, transparent "boxes" that suspend visitors on one of the city's main thoroughfares, Madison Avenue. And, when the skies are clear, you can see New York's airports by day as well as by night. Perhaps, accompany the view with a cocktail.
How much does it cost to get on SUMMIT One Vanderbilt? It depends on the package:
- SUMMIT Experience, the basic option that gives access to the observation deck, part From $39 in the daytime and $49 in the evening
- SUMMIT Ascent also allows you to ride the elevator up to 365 meters, and prices start at $59 during the day and $69 during the evening
- Ultimate SUMMIT includes, in addition to the transparent elevator ride, a signature cocktail by Danny Meyer; cost starts at $73 during the day and $83 during evening hours
At the time of the sunset there is an extra price of $10.
Those who want to, then, can complete the experience with something even more special: one can dine at Daniel Boulud's Le Pavillon restaurant, immerse oneself in Kenzo's Air installation, or jump on the transparent catwalks with the feeling of overlooking New York City.
