This morning the holders, Stoics we might say., who still have the old American Express Alitalia branded credit cards in their wallets received a small but significant gift.
In this article:
In recent months we have seen a number of specific activities related to cardholders that allowed, among other benefits, to accumulate Millemiglia points instead of Membership Rewards points. Today came perhaps the most interesting proposal of all those made so far, especially because it is the first in which a collaboration between the new company ITA Airways and American Express emerges.
Promotion
The offer is similar for holders of the various types of cards, regardless of whether they are personal or corporate cards, the only difference is in the "prize" that is given away. The procedure is simple and is as follows:
- From December 22, 2021 to March 31, 2022, they must be purchased by card, using the unique participation code, two round-trip ITA airline flights or up to 4 ITA air routes with operation of the same flights by March 31, 2022.
- Use "American Express" as the payment method for the required transactions and enter the unique participation code in the space provided
- Carry out by March 31, 2022 all air routes purchased.
If you complete the procedure correctly, you will get a voucher for two round-trip tickets to a destination in the ITA Airways network to be made in the period May 31, 2022 - September 30, 2022:
- It can be used for card purchase of ITA network routes only
- It will have a value of 100% of the "airfare" component only, excluding, therefore, fuel adjustments, airport taxes and surcharges (dependent on the date of ticket issuance from the chosen departure and destination airports), which will instead remain the responsibility of the participant;
- It can be used for purchases made through ITA Airways' call center (by calling toll-free 800 936090).
What changes, as mentioned above, is the type of destination the tickets may have:
- Green card holders will be able to choose from domestic destinations
- Gold cardholders Will have the choice in the international network, so European destinations
- Platinum holders Will be able to select at will from "intercontinental" destinations, i.e., routes with final destination airport outside the European continent
To join the initiative, ticket purchases must be made by logging in to the ita-airways.com. In addition, when purchasing, in the "WELCOME BONUS CODE" the code provided in the email must be entered.
In conclusion
Hopefully, other opportunities, perhaps cobranded cards, will also arise from this first collaboration. Of course, it doesn't pay off for the holders of the lost companions and the miles left in the belly of the former Alitalia program.
