In recent days Emirates has announced yet another renewal of statuses to members to the Dubai-based carrier's loyalty program.
In this article:
After devaluing the value of points, currently for one-way tickets, the Emirates airline has decided to stand by its elite customers again. The decision, announced with a communication on the official website, provides for a 12-month extension of the validity of statuses to all members with the level expiring by June 2022.
From reading EK's statement, it seems that this will be the last ex officio extension and that for everyone else it will be back, starting in June, to the previous normalcy, i.e., you will need to fly to obtain/renew status.
In fact, Emirates launches a message to all members whose status is set to expire in the second half of 2022.
If your level review date is from June 2022 onwards, we will support you with exclusive offers to help you catch up on trips you missed due to global travel restrictions. Review and update your e-mail address on My Profile to ensure you receive news from us within 3 months of the level review date.
Skywards points expire after 36 months from when they were earned, so EK has decided to also renew the validity of points that expired in 2020, extending the validity of expiring Skywards miles from April 2020 until Thursday, August 31, 2022.
