Norse Atlantic continues its rapid expansion and cashes in on the okay for direct flights to the United States. Another major step forward for the Norwegian airline that was founded just a year ago and is dedicated to low-cost long-haul flights.

In recent days, the U.S. Department of Transportation approved the company's request to operate direct flights to North America. Pending more information on the routes and costs offered by Norwegian, a cadet pilot training program has also been launched, in close cooperation with the Swedish OSM Aviation Academy. In short, it certainly looks like Norse Atlantic is starting to take off.
Norse Atlantic's flights to the U.S.
"We are thrilled with the U.S. Department of Transportation's approval of our affordable transatlantic flights. This milestone brings Norse Atlantic one step closer to launching an affordable and more sustainable service for customers traveling between Europe and the United States," said Bjorn Tore Larsen, founder and CEO of the Norwegian airline.
After getting the go-ahead in December from the Norwegian authorities, the company has begun planning flights of its 15 Boeing 787s. Larsen announced that now the first step will be the opening of ticket sales starting in late March. The first flights from Oslo to the United States are scheduled for April.
The first possible destinations are not yet known. Some rumors have suggested that by summer 2022 Norse Atlantic aims to fly its customers from Norway to New York, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale. The latter destination appears to be the Scandinavian airline's main connection. Another relevant figure concerns the applications, already more than 3,000 for the 50 pilot positions the carrier has made available to begin flight operations. Undoubtedly a great success, showing the great confidence around this new project.
"We are creating a culture of high performance and an environment where we value diversity. Our goal is for every employee to feel a sense of belonging toward the company," Larsen explained, "We are very pleased with the people we have recruited so far.
