Showtime has prepared a truly amazing publicity launch for one of its new TV series: the anthology show The First Lady, coming in April. The famous American cable network has announced a totally unexpected collaboration with one of the world's most famous hotel brands, the Ritz-Carlton, part of the huge Marriott Bonvoy family. The goal is to offer a unique guest experience, effectively reinventing the concept of a presidential suite.
In this article:
In fact, in selected Ritz-Carlton hotels, a real transformation will take place in some very luxurious rooms, to say the least. These will become on this occasion the suites of the First Ladies. A truly unique chance to step into the shoes of these women depicted in the series.
First ladies' suites, what to know
The program has already been outlined, here is how each Ritz-Carlton hotel will offer its First Ladies' suites to the public:
- New York: First Lady suite will evoke the Frank Delano Roosevelt era, offering a suite dedicated entirely to Eleanor Roosevelt, first lady from 1933 to 1945 (played in the series by Gillian Anderson)
- Los Angeles: Gerald Ford era will find space in this suite, where the real star will be Betty Ford, first lady from 1974 to 1977 (played in the series by Michelle Pfeiffer)
- Chicago: space for Barack Obama's presidency and thus the suite dedicated to first lady Michelle Obama, among the most beloved ever, in office from 2009 to 2017 (played by Viola Davis)
- Washington, D.C.: This venue will have the honor of hosting all three presidential eras featured in the Showtime TV series. There will thus be three suites dedicated to the respective First Ladies.
Lucky guests in these unique rooms, offered for a decidedly limited time, will have the chance to find themselves immersed among real items used on the show's set. Props such as a replica of Roosevelt's wheelchair, a model of the Betty Ford Center and an exact replica of Michelle Obama's glove box.
Space will also be given to a display of the dresses worn on set by Michelle Pfeiffer, Gillian Anderson and Viola Davis. Cocktails inspired by these great women will also be served, available both at hotel bars and in their respective restaurants. When unoccupied, of course, the First Ladies' suites will be the focus of a guided sightseeing tour. Guests will be treated to refreshments enhanced by the favorite dishes of Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Betty Ford.
Staying in First Ladies' Suites
It goes without saying that one can book a stay in the First Ladies' suites. In fact, a chance to experience this fantastic experience firsthand is offered, not only through the guided tour. However, this opportunity is reserved only for members of the Marriott Bonvoy. They are required to take advantage of the Moments platform to attempt to book. This, as it is known, allows them to take advantage of points accumulated over time for activities of various kinds. These include room for offers for access to exclusive experiences. Should you be successful in winning an overnight stay in one of these fabulous rooms, you will be able to appreciate a themed dinner taken care of in every detail and accompanied by drinks. All designed for two people, graced by the First Ladies' favorite recipes.
