Aeroitalia is ready for takeoff, Efremovich: "Today is an important day for Italian aviation."
Aeroitalia, a new independent and wholly privately owned Italian airline, is born.
A press conference was held yesterday at the Hilton Hotel in Rome Fiumicino Airport, where Aeroitalia's Board of Directors, consisting of South American entrepreneur German Efromovich (Non-Executive Chairman), French banker and airline financing expert Marc Bourgade (Chairman), and university professor and air transport expert Gaetano Intrieri (Chief Executive Officer) presented the project's guidelines.

In recent days, Aeroitalia has been awarded the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), indispensable tool to start passenger and cargo air transport operations.
The event was also attended by representatives of the management companies of Forli Airport, the first operational base for the Regional network.
Giuseppe Careddu, chief commercial officer of Aeroitalia, commented, "Our goal is for Aeroitalia to fully represent the Italian spirit, which we can be proud of and which has helped build our country's remarkable reputation around the world."
"The brand of Aeroitalia is based on four typically Italian core values: warmth, thoughtfulness, beauty and excellence. On a visual level," he explained, "it consists of a wordmark and an icon: the acronym of Aeroitalia is A+i and is represented by the union of a diagonal conveying future, dynamism, perspective, optimism and growth and an "i" with a red dot representing the human component, that is, the person at the center of our attention with a sense of caring, attention to detail, warmth, empathy and pride.
Careddu then outlined the business vision: "Our company definitely sees the development of long-haul in the near future, but already in the immediate future we have two lines of business that will see their own start-up: charter activity as early as the next few days and the regional network that will go to meet a potential demand on our first operational base in Forlì."
German Efromovich, Non-Executive President of Aeroitalia, said, "Today is an important day not only for the birth of Aeroitalia, but also for the entire commercial aviation of the Italian republic and the world. An airline is being born that will allow everyone the opportunity to travel by air while strictly observing standards of safety, comfort and excellence in service."
Efromovich then concluded with thanks to Enac: "This certainly would not have been possible without the professionalism, commitment, hard work and responsibility of all components of the National Civil Aviation Authority."
Marc Bourgade, Chairman of Aeroitalia, added, "Aeroitalia will be a sustainable airline that respects and serves its most valuable assets: its passengers."
Also speaking at the press conference was Gaetano Intrieri, chief executive officer. of Aeroitalia: "An Italian airline is leaving at the least ideal time to invest in this sector. For this they want to thank our shareholders who believed in this project from the beginning."
Intrieri continued: "It is regrettable that in recent years there has been a strong dispersion of so many professionals in our sector; AeroItalia was built by bringing on board so many professionals who contributed to the success of obtaining the Air Operator Certificate in just over four months. In this I also want to thank all the labor organizations for their valuable contribution. We will begin our first flight operations with the Forli base of operations. whom we sincerely thank for their willingness. We equally hope for great openness and support from the airport partner who will support us as we define our hub for long-haul flights."
