As of today, May 1, 2022, it is no longer necessary to complete the Passenger Locator Form before boarding a flight from abroad to Italy.
In this article:
Established at the height of the pandemic as a means of controlling passenger travel, both from Italy and many other nations, as of today it is no longer required. Thus, the last piece of Covid-era travel-related restrictions falls away.
Above are my latest PLFs, requested on my trips back to Italy.
Our government has decided to remove this requirement for all travelers arriving in Italy, but to maintain at least until June 15 the requirement for masks on board airplanes and other public transportation.
Therefore, from today it will be much easier to check in online without having to go through document control, as without the need for PLF there will be no need for additional checks for passengers heading to Italy.
