After finishing the theoretical training, you have to pass a examination and then moved on to thepractical training where you have to pass a test that involves 1500 flight hours to aspire for the ATPL license that allows you to fly an aircraft as a commander.
If after all these sacrifices economic, time and mental you end up helping the ground staff to loading luggage On the plane, well that's a separate thing.
This is what happened at the airport in Edinburgh when an Edelweiss airline pilot, was filmed helping ground crew.

Several airports and airlines in Europe and especially in the United Kingdom have suffered a personnel crisis and this has led to a series of delays and cancellations of flights, creating quite a few inconveniences.
It would appear that the Edelweiss pilot volunteered to help the ground crew, certainly to avoid delays and slowdowns for his flight.
"We Swiss are helpful and always try to be on time. Because our pilot actively helped his ground handling colleagues at Edinburgh Airport, the flight was able to land on time in Zurich.
This example is an exception. For a pilot, flight readiness and safety always take priority. This is obviously true in this case as well."

To make up for the lack of personnel British airlines are offering incentives attractive to all air-side pass holders, such as a sign-up bonus of 1.000 £.
The staffing crisis shows no sign of abating, especially in the summer season When tourism is at its peak. In June, a company like easyJet was forced to cancel 40 flights a day for this reason.
"Due to the continued impact of the difficult operating environment on our daily operations, we have made a small portion of additional early flight cancellations for June.
We are informing customers in advance to minimize the impact on their plans and offer the opportunity to rebook or receive a refund. Our customer service has been expanded to support affected customers. We continue to closely monitor the operation and take early action if necessary."
