Overseas travel, which nations still have restrictions

Over the months we have reported, in real time, the day-to-day reopening of borders and the abandonment of restrictions that each state had adopted to control first, and manage later, nonessential travel. Many readers as I recounted my recent world tour have written to me for clarification as to whether or not they can move to a particular destination.

I therefore decided to take stock in what are top destinations for Italian travelers who have restrictions in place as of today (July 22).

Canada

Since the reopening of the borders, last September, the rules for visiting the North American nation changed several times. Currently to move to Canada it is necessary to have a Valid ETA, an authorization obtained through the ArriveCan app.

In addition to this, it will be possible to be randomly selected and have to take a quick swab upon arrival at international airports.

Japan

Impossible or nearly impossible to travel to the Rising Sun nation for tourism. Technically, the borders are reopened, but the visa-on-arrival system is suspended. So in order to enter Japan you must have a tourist visa, which is currently issued only and exclusively for trips organized by authorized tour operators, limited in number and under escort.

New Zealand

I have experienced on my skin, or rather my nose, the procedures for obtaining entry to the island. With almost all restrictions removed, the requirement to undergo two swabs remains. The kit is given to the passenger who must first have obtained a pass without which one cannot board. In addition to enter New Zealand it is necessary to have paid NZeTA.

Operations are to be carried out independently within the first 24 hours after arrival and by the 5th day, in the meantime one can move freely around the nation without any restrictions.

Chile

Chile is the only South American nation that still has a number of requirements For travelers heading to the country.
In addition to completing a Travel Affidavit, visitors must be fully vaccinated to receive a Mobility Pass that allows them to enter hotels, restaurants, theaters and public transportation. However, a PCR test can sometimes temporarily replace the Mobility Pass.

No restrictions, but doors open only to the vaccinated

The list of nations open without quarantine only to vaccinated people is very long, from Thailand to the US, from Argentina to Australia. All countries that allow travel only to adults with the completed vaccination cycle.
