Singapore Airlines has once again activated the ability to check in at the Jewel, the spectacular shopping mall outside the city airport.
In this article:
Before the pandemic, more than 30 airlines offered their passengers this opportunity, a way for travelers to unpack as quickly as possible and then be able to spend time in one of the many activities offered by Jewel.
Now this possibility has been activated again, although not yet at pre-pandemic levels.
Who can check in at the Jewel
Currently, three airlines are again offering this service: Qantas, Malaysian and Singapore Airlines. Specifically, the city-state carrier is offering this option for all direct flights to the old continent, including Italy.
- 23:30 SQ322 for London
- 23:30 SQ378 for Milan/Barcelona
- 23:55 SQ324 for Amsterdam
- 23:55 SQ352 to Copenhagen
- 23:55 SQ26 to Frankfurt
- 00:15 SQ336 for Paris
- 00:30 SQ328 to Munich
- 01:10 SQ306 for London
- 01:30 SQ366 for Rome
- 01:45 SQ346 to Zurich
- 02:05 SQ392 for Istanbul
- 02:05 SQ52 for Manchester
The counters will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. daily, allowing passengers departing on one of these flights to obtain their boarding passes and ship their luggage, even 12 hours before the flight.
One of the Jewel's special features is the presence of a Priority Pass lounge. Yes, it is not a mistake, inside this amusement park, which is also a shopping mall, cinema and immense food court, there is also a lounge.
The Priority Pass lounge
More unique than rare inside a mall, there is a lounge inside the Jewel. A waiting room where you can work, eat, and have a drink, just like the ones you find at the airport and which, thanks to the Priority Pass card, you can take advantage of for free.
The lounge is really nice, and if we were in an airport, it would definitely be one of the best lounges in the world.
Nothing is missing: there is a bar counter, there are work stations, relaxation areas with sofas, and of course a buffet area.
If desired, for 10SGD per hour it is also possible to relax in a sleep pod, the same seats found in British Airways' exclusive lounges London.
In conclusion
This service is really perfect for spending time before your flight at Jewel. Not going there would be a real shame. The airport is a 1-minute walk from the mall entrance, and there is no comparison between what this facility offers compared to the offerings inside the airport.
My advice: if you are not traveling business class with Singapore, stay until last at the Jewel and then go straight to the gate, 10 minutes before boarding closes.
