How to make onboard security videos as interesting as possible? Airlines have been wondering about this for years, to the point of starting a real long-distance challenge. Each year the competition begins for the most intriguing film that manages to attract the attention of its audience and, at the same time, go viral so as to increase traffic on its pages. A marketing operation that has seen in this 2022 the Brussels Airlines place themselves at the top of this particular list. What they have put together is a music video clip, launching a song with musicality that is interesting to say the least, but with lyrics that echo exactly the directions that flight attendants give before each departure.

Brussels Airlines: viral security video
Although flying is now a decidedly common activity, not everyone is adequately familiar with the safety lines regarding possible emergencies on board. People tend to get distracted when stewardesses and stewards point out the various procedures. Everyone thinks that nothing bad can really happen or, in some cases, that they have already assimilated it all, albeit passively.
Getting these messages across in an enticing way is of paramount importance, as well as crucial on the social traffic front. To get the attention of its passengers, Brussels Airlines decided to reach out to the famous Belgian band Hooverphonic, convincing them to produce a catchy song, the lyrics of which mirrored precisely those of the emergency instructions.
The group took the task tremendously seriously. The end result is a professional video clip that immediately grabs the audience's attention. The musicianship is excellent, in full Hooverphonic style. This is complemented by well-mixed visuals that also show surreal subjects and offer cultured artistic references, such as to Magritte, another example of Belgian excellence. A security video presented On all Brussels Airlines aircraft as of Aug. 1, 2022, as far as long-range travel is concerned.
Brussels Airlines: Belgium in the world
The airline prides itself on being able to represent Belgium in all the countries it touches, bringing some of the national spirit on board. This has happened in the past in different ways. Staying with the safety video, the Red Devils national soccer team has lent itself previously. Today it is Hooverphonic who are carrying the flag high, but until not so long ago the task was entrusted to a humorous animated film. The best of Belgium is also highlighted on the menu, with an excellent selection of beers, chocolates and wines on board.
Involving the music world, however, was a stroke of genius, with an excellent video clip directed by Jan Boon, with the technical part entrusted to Merelbeke's virtual reality studio Studio Regie. The request certainly caught the famous band off guard. Alex Callier commented on this, "I really thought it would be impossible to write a song that exploited the lyrics of safety instructions. At the same time, however, I love this kind of challenge, so we tried. I am happy, because after several attempts we are ready for takeoff."
