It landed on the Italian market last November, but is not yet well known. The new credit card is called theYOU card and belongs to the Mastercard circuit. This product was present in other European markets and now faces the Italian market as well
In this article:
Italy joins Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France and Spain. Depending on the country, the name is different, but the products are similar. I personally believe that the Austrian version has the best design, but it is not because of how aesthetically beautiful it is that one decides to apply, or not, for a credit card. MasterCard's gold credit card issued by the Luxembourg-based Advanzia Bank S.A is a candidate to be a excellent backup card especially when traveling outside of Italy.
What cartaYou offers
The proposal is really aggressive and, above all, looks like an ideal travel companion, given the characteristics of the services offered. It is a payment instrument that relies on the existing checking account And, if used in balance, it costs the owner nothing.
The features of this card also include the possibility of being used to purchase cryptocurrencies: in this case, a monthly interest of 1.75% is charged. Full details on costs are available here.
The card is totally free (no fee or withdrawal fees) and has two ways of reimbursement: on balance and fractional deferred. In the second case, however, interest is triggered, and we are absolutely against this mode of use and remind all our readers to settle the due amount every month. In addition, the cartaYou can be conveniently managed from the downloadable app on smartphones.
Plafonds and spending limits
As with other credit cards on the Italian market, it does not have a set ceiling; however, it starts from a minimum of €1,500. Credit that changes according to the behavior of the holder. There is a daily withdrawal limit of 1,000€, while the other limits will be set by Advanzia Bank based on the applicant's profile.
Why it is an interesting product for travelers
This card has some interesting functions related to payments outside the euro area: the exchange rate applied Is not charged any fees and this translates into savings compared to what other credit cards offer. Being from the Mastercard circuit you are guaranteed to have a product that is accepted anywhere in the world and at no extra cost.
In addition to this, the card offers, at no additional cost, insurance coverage. It is basic, but it is better than nothing especially if we remember that we are talking about a card that costs absolutely nothing and is therefore a great tool for those who do not yet have credit cards that offer more comprehensive travel insurance.
