W Toronto: the style
In this article:
The creative agency Sid Lee was responsible for the design of the new W Toronto, which tries to reconcile different souls, as does the famous Canadian city. On the one hand, it breathes the biophilia, which is the great attention to green. On the other hand, we have a style that fits best within the urban grid. Marriott Also explains how the details of the architecture are also followed brutalist. It is a style that developed between the 1950s and 1970s, characterized by exposed concrete structures, capable of causing a real shock in the public by its provocative style and forms.
As many as 11 stories, with a facade transformed by the addition of warm LED lighting. Style is thus contaminated, and this is done in different ways. Just think of the addition of an elevator with an opaque orange color. This will have the task of leading guests to the bar and restaurant located on the roof.

Inside the W Toronto
There is a careful study of coloring in order to succeed in conveying precise feelings to the public. It all begins on the sixth floor of the building, with the Welcome Desk and Living Room typical of the W. The colors encountered here are ruby, topaz and amethyst. All enhanced by velvet furnishings that take the mind back in time. One travels back to the late 1960s. The elements that enhance the ambiance are varied, but one's gaze cannot help but fall on the circular-shaped bar with intriguing lighting and The yard, or outdoor terrace surrounded by a three-story atrium.
In total there are 254 rooms. The design calls for 30 of these to be suites and two Extreme Wow Suites, that is, belonging to the Presidential category. The furnishing style is inspired by Toronto's theater district. At the side of the beds are pendant lights reminiscent of the stage. All before a velvet curtain that can be opened and closed automatically.
If we talk about art, we cannot avoid references to the vast local music culture. There are therefore record-like tables. An extroverted design that aims to impress at every turn. In the Double Queen rooms we find. a work of art on the wall which reads, "Not everything has to mean something. Some things just are," by Charles de Lint.
W Toronto: Skylight
What to expect at the bar and restaurant Skylight? It is located on the rooftop of the hotel. In addition to excellent cocktails, you can enjoy Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. In contrast, the design style harks back to the provocative spirit of the hippie revolution of the 1960s. The main room is bazaar-inspired, with DJ station and stage for performances. It also boasts The Loft, or a space for semi-private events; The Den, an intimate corner for those who like privacy; and The Terrace, an area with seating but isolated from the rest.
