ANA brings "The Room" and "The Loft" back to Europe, still no news for Tokyo/Milan flight

ANA (All Nippon Airways) will bring its flagship aircraft back to Europe, specifically in London, since the end of October. This, too, is a small sign that perhaps Japan decided to permanently (re)open the borders that are still sealed since March 2020.
What are The Room and The Loft
In this article:
On board the Japanese carrier's 777/300 fleet, the two premium cabins are called The Loft, the first class, and The Room, the business class.
I should have flown in the award-winning first-class cabin last June., I had in fact managed to Reserve an unobtainable seat aboard ANA first class. using Virgin Atlantic points instead of paying €9,000. Then, however, things did not turn out as I had hoped.
These two cabins were announced in 2019 and were just in time to debut before the outbreak of the pandemic on the Japanese carrier's main routes-London and Frankfurt in Europe and New York and Los Angeles in the United States. At the time of the announcement ANA was the first airline in the world to offer in business and first class a seat equipped with a door, today British Airways is also offering a similar configuration with the new Club World Suite And the new First.
"The Room" business class seats, which are among the widest and most comfortable in their class due to the presence of doors, offer much more privacy and personal space than what the company offers on the rest of its fleet.
Instead, The Loft is the nickname of the new first-class cabin. As the name suggests, the passenger will have plenty of space and a seat that becomes a bed, unique among first-class offerings for this type of configuration.
Slow reopening of Japan
From the Rising Sun, rumors and small signs that we are close to the long-awaited announcement are coming day by day, and as Japan reopens, the Japanese airline has begun to rebuild its international route network. Perhaps sooner or later we will also see the announcement of the launch of a direct connection between Italy and Japan by ANA, the country's main carrier.
In fact, it was to take off in April 2020, flight NH207 from Tokyo Haneda and Milan Malpensa, but then the covid swept and displaced all plans. Pre pandemic only Alitalia connected Italy with Japan with two direct flights from Malpensa and Fiumicino airports, any day now ITA's connection from Rome to Tokyo Haneda will also take off.
How to book with points these two booths
We have already told you how to make reservations with points these booths and explained step by step how to use Virgin Atlantic points to book what has been voted the best first-class cabin in the world.
Available seats are a very rare commodity and the hunt is painstaking work, but as we often say, the reward is truly enormous. At the moment the 777/300 will fly only to London, but - once the restrictions are removed - it is logical to expect the return of the connection to Frankfurt as well, and then yes, the hunt for the needle in the haystack will have to begin.
