Temporary suspension until Sept. 12 of Blue Air flights out of Romania. This was announced by the company itself, the nation's largest privately owned, through a press release. The reason? Blue Air says it was forced to make this decision after the Freeze by the Ministry of Environment on all carrier bank accounts.

During the day yesterday (Sept. 6), all flights scheduled from foreign airports and bound for Romania took off and landed regularly. But, since no Blue Air planes will leave the country until Monday, inbound flights to Romania will also be suspended.
The company says it can no longer pay its operating bills due to the Romanian Ministry of Environment's decision to freeze its accounts. However, he does not mention the factors that led to this drastic decision.
Just two months ago, in July, the Romanian Consumer Protection Authority (ANPC ) had fined Blue Air 2 million euros for canceling more than 11,000 flights in a year, during the period between April 30, 2021 and April 30, 2022. The ANPC had also ruled that Blue Air should return to customers, within ten days, RON 66.5m (13m euros) collected in fares for their respective flights. The company had responded that it would appeal the penalty.
On September 6, just hours before he announced the suspension of his flights, Blue Air also reported that it has closed a code-sharing partnership with Air Connect, a small Romanian airline which has only recently begun operations. Under the agreement, Blue Air will transfer operations of certain regional, domestic and international EU services to Air Connect.
