Boom Technology, the company that wants to revolutionize the world of commercial aviation, was left without engines. The new Concorde, more modern and environmentally sustainable, was to make its debut with the first Supersonic jets in 2025, the service would then start from 2029, but apparently something went wrong.
In this article:
Boom had an agreement with Rolls-Royce, among the best and most reliable aircraft engines ever, but after working more than two years the company no longer seems to be interested in the project.
"We completed our contract with Boom and delivered several engineering studies for their supersonic Overture program.
After careful consideration, Rolls-Royce has determined that the supersonic commercial aviation market is not currently a priority for the company and, therefore, will not pursue further work on the program at this time. It has been a pleasure working with the Boom team and we wish them every success in the future."
Note from Rolls-Royce
After the first concept, not long ago a restyling total aircraft, preferring a modern, sharp line.
The interiors are also noteworthy, clean, state-of-the-art lines, nothing to envy the business classes.
Boom was working on several fronts, one of which was precisely the engine supersonic that will cause Boom Overture to exceed the speed of sound and reach Mach 1.7.
According to Boom and the CEO of Rolls Royce, the two companies merely study and design a supersonic engine concept, but this did not also imply the production Of the engine itself. Apparently Boom will have to have the engine conceived with Rolls developed by someone else, which is a bit of a peculiar...
These statements were probably made in order not to destabilize Boom's current investors, such as United, ANA and American Airlines, who have already invested in the project and ordered supersonic aircraft for values in excess of 20 million of dollars. A little joke arresting for Boom, hoping that the project continuous, we await developments in the matter of engines and launching.
