The Customer Cup was presented to the company's airport employees for meeting and exceeding expected goals. Punctuality in departure time, ability to reduce the time it takes to re-route a flight, baggage delivery, and positive comments from passengers on their overall airport experience were the criteria that distinguished the Rome Fiumicino passenger team members from those at other American stations, in the same category, located around the world.
The celebration featured Kyle Mabry, newly appointed VP of Operations and Commercial, EMEA & APAC at American Airlines, and Federico Scriboni, ADR's Head of Aviation Business Development.
"Winning the Customer Cup is a major achievement, and we are thrilled that the performance in the second quarter of 2022 even broke the record of the performance recorded in 2017," said Kyle Mabry, VP of Operations and Commercial, EMEA & APAC at American Airlines.. "This is an award that underscores the American Airlines staff's constant focus on the passenger to make boarding and disembarkation operations as efficient as possible."
During the 2022 summer season, American operated 35 direct flights per week from Rome Fiumicino Airport to the U.S. hubs of New York (JFK), Dallas - Fort Worth (DFW), Chicago (ORD), Philadelphia (PHL), and Charlotte (CLT), offering passengers departing from Italy the opportunity to continue on to numerous destinations across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
After more than 25 years with the airline, Kyle Mabry has just been named VP of Operations and Commercial, EMEA & APAC at American Airlines. In his new role, Kyle will lead teams to execute American's commercial strategy, working to achieve the company's shared goals of reliability and profitability while maintaining a firm commitment to passengers and continuing to elevate American as a leading global carrier.
"Our best congratulations to the American Airlines team at Rome Fiumicino for their achievement," said Federico Scriboni, ADR's Head of Aviation Business Development. "This recognition represents a solid confirmation of the effectiveness of the path long undertaken by Aeroporti di Roma aimed at the pursuit of excellence in the services offered to passengers and airlines, as also recognized by the Airport Council International, which awarded Fiumicino as the most appreciated airport in Europe, giving it the "Best Airport Award" for the fourth time. The awarding of the Customer Cup is a wonderful testament to the importance of the historic and well-established partnership between Aeroporti di Roma and American Airlines, which is the best foundation on which to build further future success."
