United Airlines today announced a New seasonal service of daily direct flights between Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport and its San Francisco hub, effective May 26, 2023.

United flies from Italy to the U.S. from more cities than any other airline, and during the 2023 summer season it will offer 9 direct daily services from our country to the U.S.
United's new seasonal service from Rome to San Francisco will be operated with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, configured with a total of 276 seats: 50 full flat-bed seats in United Polaris business class, 24 seats in United Premium Plus, and 202 economy class seats, including 46 seats in Economy Plus that offer more legroom.
"We are excited to announce the further expansion of our network of connections from Italy to the United States with the introduction of the new flight from Rome to our San Francisco hub," said Walter Cianciusi, United Country Sales Manager for Italy.
"We are very happy to welcome United Airlines' new direct flight between Rome and San Francisco," said Federico Scriboni, Head of Aviation Business Development at Aeroporti di Roma. "With nearly 250,000 annual passengers in 2019 between Rome's catchment area and the Bay Area, San Francisco represents one of the largest areas in the United States in terms of demand to and from Rome. The launch of this important new direct service will accelerate the overall traffic recovery and create new opportunities, allowing customers to reach Rome directly and enjoy the many beauties that Italy and the Mediterranean area have to offer."
