Fiumicino to Bilbao
From April 1, 2023, the new flight to Bilbao will take off, connection that will have 2 frequencies per week (every Tuesday and Saturday). The new route joins the classic connections operated by Volotea departing from Rome Fiumicino, to Cagliari, Olbia, Lille, Nantes and Strasbourg, for a total of 6 destinations.
"From next April 1, Rome and Spain will be closer thanks to our new route: passengers from Lazio will have many convenient options at competitive prices to take off to discover Bilbao and the entire Basque Country region, characterized by a varied natural and cultural heritage. We are confident that the new flight, scheduled for spring 2023, will delight all vacationers who are already looking beyond winter and who want to book right now a vacation or a short-break to discover the Basque city, among art, culture and good food - Valeria Rebasti, Volotea's Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe, said. Moreover, it should not be forgotten that, thanks to the new route, we will amplify the traffic of foreign tourists eager to visit the Eternal City, thus supporting and strengthening the local economy."
Launch of new flight shortens distance between Rome and northern Spain, proposing a new international route to all Roman passengers and consolidating, at the same time, the carrier's commitment at the local level. During the 2022 summer season, Volotea transported more than 296,000 passengers to Rome Fiumicino, taking to the runway with a total offering of more than 2,100 flights.
"We welcome this new route to Bilbao by Volotea - said Federico Scriboni, head of Aviation Business Development at Aeroporti di Roma. -.To see an airline that, just one year after its debut at Fiumicino airport, continues to invest by increasing the number of connections served, makes us proud, confirming the strategic and competitive nature of the Roman market."
Palermo to Toulouse
From May 26, 2023, the flight to Toulouse will take off, a connection that will have 2 frequencies per week, every Tuesday and Friday. The new route complements the classic Volotea routes departing from Falcone and Borsellino: 6 in Italy and 10 international, for a total of 16 connected destinations.
"Volotea continues to invest locally - Giovanni Scalia, CEO of GESAP, the management company of Palermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport, said. The connection with Toulouse, from the next summer season, confirms the airline's desire to increasingly increase its offerings from the airport and also consolidates the special relationship the carrier has always had with Palermo."
The new route further strengthens the tourist axis between the Sicilian capital and France: in fact, connections to Deauville, Lourdes, Lille, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Strasbourg are already available at the Palermo airport. The connection to Toulouse, in addition to offering a new international flight to all Palermo passengers, consolidates the carrier's commitment at the local level. Just in Palermo, during the 2022 summer season, the carrier carried 137,000 passengers, totaling a load factor of 97%.
"Starting next May 26, Palermo and France will be closer thanks to our new route: Sicilian passengers will have many convenient options at competitive prices to take off for Toulouse, the Rose Villas. With plenty of time in advance, you will be able to book your flight to plan a vacation in a French location rich in history, culture and with an incredible food and wine scene - Valeria Rebasti, Volotea's Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe, said. Finally, it should not be forgotten that, thanks to the new route, we will amplify the traffic of foreign tourists eager to reach Palermo and visit the beauty of Sicily, thus supporting the local economy."

Starting March 30, 2023, it will take off from the city of Orobica to Oviedo, connection that will have 3 frequencies per week (every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). "A first from Volotea, one of our most loyal partners, which has decided to launch its first international route in 2023 from Milan Bergamo. Oviedo is a brand new destination and for this reason even more attractive from both Italy and Spain - commented Giacomo Cattaneo, SACBO's Aviation Sales Director. -. We are satisfied with the choice made by the airline that expands the network of connections served by our airport. If the appointment with Bergamo Brescia Capital of Culture 2023 is a reason to attract incoming tourism, the charm of Asturias represents an invitation to discover one of the richest destinations in terms of places of interest."
