Emirates recently celebrated its 37 years of activity, it was October 25 of the 1985 when the company's first route was launched from its hub in Dubai Toward Mumbai and Karachi.

In nearly 4 decades Emirates has grown steadily, investing heavily in the quality of services and now becoming one of the most important the world, which is also evidenced by the numerous awards won by the company in various categories.
Emirates' first small fleet consisted of only 4 units, none of which were owned by the carrier: 1 Boeing 737-300 and 1 Airbus A300 were from the Pakistan International Airlines, while 2 other Boeing 727s belonged to the Dubai government.

Emirates in the 1990s
The 1990s was a prosperous period for Emirates' economies, reaching 15 routes around the world, including the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
