After the recent announcement of the new connection to the Algiers, low-cost airline Volotea has confirmed the launch of a new route departing from Capodichino airport: from June 1, every Thursday, it will also be possible to take off to Karpathos. This brings to 22 the number of destinations that can be reached from the airport aboard the carrier's fleet, which, for next year, estimates that it will take to the runway in Campania with a total offer of about 600,000 seats for sale (+17% vs 2022).

Karpathos is an island rich in contrasts and natural beauty, where folk traditions are carefully handed down. Travelers will discover a truly unique landscape: wild mountains and deep gorges alternate with about a hundred beaches, lapped by turquoise waters. Thanks to its particular conformation, the island is also perfect for more sporty tourists, who can try their hand at trekking, climbing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and diving. Karpathos is then dotted with numerous taverns and restaurants, ideal for refreshment after visiting some of the island's most striking sights.
With the announcement of the new route, the destinations connected by Volotea to Naples airport thus become 22, 8 of them exclusive. Of these, 8 are in Italy (Cagliari, Genoa, Lampedusa, Olbia, Palermo, Pantelleria, Turin and Venice) and 14 abroad: 9 in Greece (Kefalonia, Heraklion/Creta, Mykonos, Preveza/Lefkada, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Zakynthos and Karpathos - New 2023), 2 in France (Lourdes and Nantes), 1 in Spain (Bilbao), 1 in Denmark (Aalborg), and 1 in Algeria (Algiers -Â New 2022).
"Only a few days ago we announced a new connection to Algiers, and today we are very proud to also confirm the launch of a new route to Karpathos, an island with great tourist appeal in the heart of the Dodecanese. Although very different from each other, we are sure that both flights will be able to conquer an increasingly large number of passengers. The Naples-Karpathos further reinforces the tourism axis between Campania and Greece, while the flight to Algiers christens our first flights between Italy and Mediterranean Africa - Valeria Rebasti, Volotea's Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe, said.. In addition to reconfirming the great importance that Naples International Airport holds in Volotea's development plans, these two new routes reflect the company's seriousness and attention to offering, flight after flight, travel options in line with the needs of all passengers."
Present in Naples since 2013, year after year, the airline has been able to establish a solid and lasting dialogue with the economic fabric of Campania, which, in 2020, was crowned with the inauguration of one of the carrier's operating bases at Naples airport. From the beginning of 2022 to October, well over 485,000 passengers were carried. In addition, at the airport, the airline operated more than 3,000 flights, scoring a load factor of 92% and a recommendation rate around 80%: this means that more than 8 out of 10 passengers would recommend Volotea to friends and family.
