"Days like this - Apulia Regional Councilor for Transport Anita Maurodinoia said. - should not only make us reflect on the path taken by the shareholder and the Department of Transportation to improve infrastructure, but also convince us of the evident recovery of air traffic after the pandemic. Well in advance of our wildest expectations, we can announce that we have reached 9 million passengers. Therefore, I firmly believe that this is the right time to invest in the region's infrastructure, especially the airport infrastructure, which I believe is crucial not only for the quality of service provided, but also and especially for the safety standards guaranteed. Our intention, like that of Aeroporti di Puglia, is to offer passengers passing through Puglia's airports the best in terms of services and safety. Puglia is a land of excellence in all fields, and we, who govern it, must ensure that these standards are always on the rise. Improving infrastructure means welcoming tourists in the best possible way. If Apulia's airports have achieved high standards, despite the stop due to the pandemic, it is because management has worked so that all the work done until 2019, the airports' golden year, would not be wasted. On the contrary, the numbers, not only confirm the trend, but describe to us a constantly growing situation. I therefore applaud," he concluded, "the entire team of Aeroporti di Puglia, with whom we will continue to work as we have always done.
"Today's conference - said the president of Aeroporti di Puglia, Antonio Maria Vasile - gives us reason for the strategy put in place for some time by the Company's management to improve and expand the offer of connections to and from Puglia. In Ryanair we always find a partner ready to bet on new routes that the market asks us for. After all, the company by accepting our requests and working alongside our commercial, allowed us to restart after the stop caused by the pandemic and record numbers, higher than the same period in 2019, a golden year for Apulian airports. The increase in routes compared to previous years," Vasile continued, "gives us reason for the work done so far, the trust shown to us by our shareholder and the reliability of our airports. For this reason, in the wake of the results achieved, I can confirm that we will continue to work in this direction, pursuing our strategy, also in view of the upcoming summer season for which we have already announced, in recent days, important news and we are confident - he concluded - that between now and March other routes can be added so as to complete the network of connections also to strategic markets for our tourism industry."
