The new route was presented at a press conference in the region, in the presence of President Francesco Acquaroli, Alexander D'Orsogna, CEO of Ancona International Airport, Marco Bruschini, director of ATIM, and Valeria Rebasti, Country Manager Italy & Southeast Europe of Volotea.
"Starting next May, flying between Ancona and France will be even easier thanks to the debut of our first international route departing from the Marche airport: passengers will have many convenient options at competitive prices to take off to discover the wonders and masterpieces of the Ville Lumière. Thanks to the new flight, it will be possible to take advantage right away to plan a vacation or short-break in one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world - Valeria Rebasti, Volotea's Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe, said. At the same time, we are confident that the connection to Paris, along with flights to Cagliari, Olbia, Palermo and Catania, will increase the flow of incoming tourists, eager to visit a region as rich in artistic and cultural attractions as Le Marche."Â
"Today is a date to mark on the calendar. The initiation of this connection - said Acquaroli - represents a great opportunity for our region and is part of the vast strategy to revitalize Marche's infrastructure network and intermodality system, on which we are working synergistically. To be present in the main European and international economic circuits, it is necessary to be reachable. The airport is a fundamental hub to restore centrality to our territory, both through national and international connections. Now we must continue to strive to build, around these circuits, new development projects also through Atim, in which we wanted to focus work on tourism and internationalization issues."Â
"The link over Paris - D'Orsogna said. - is a unique and historic opportunity for the Marche region and one that, as an airport, allows us to make a leap forward in quality and recognition in positioning internationally. We expect an increase in passenger flow for both incoming and outgoing, linked not only to tourism but also to economic and productive development, and we hope that a solid induced activity can arise from this to the benefit of the regional economy. We are at work, together with the Region, Atim and the intermodal players for the development of the entire "Marche system," enhancing a synergy that can be the key to building a model that can also be replicated elsewhere."
"Airline flights - said Bruschini - are the 'legs' of promotion, therefore, today is an important day for the development of Marche tourism and related induced industries. We need to attack international markets for the growth of the regional economic system, and a strong synergy in intermodality will allow the region to be more easily present at major international promotional events. We are working to be present in the most important promotional fair in Paris and in the other important occasions that we will gradually announce, related to more tourism clusters."Â
This makes 5 destinations connected by Volotea to Ancona airport., 4 in Italy (Catania, Palermo, Cagliari and Olbia) and 1 in France (Paris Charles de Gaulle - New 2023).Â
