The Airbus A320neo with new ITA Airways blue livery made its first commercial flight today: the AZ 1781 departed Rome Fiumicino at 1:20 p.m. local time to land at Palermo's Punta Raisi Airport.
The Airbus A320neo is dedicated to Francesco Moser, Italian cyclist extraordinaire of the 1970s and 1980s, and sports unique design details such as the Zorro mask and sharklets, and will serve the Company's short- and medium-haul routes.
Technological and efficient, the new Airbus A320neo boasts 20% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per passenger than previous generation aircraft.
The new A320neo will serve the Company's domestic and international network routes from Rome Fiumicino to the airports of Brindisi, Bari, Bologna, Catania, Genoa, Milan Linate, Naples, Palermo, Lamezia Terme, Turin and Venice in Italy, and those of Paris CDG, Madrid and Brussels in Europe up to cover in Summer 2023 All ITA Airways' short- and medium-haul destinations.
