This is the fourth announcement launched by the airport management company and is part of multi-year planning aimed at fostering environmental compatibility between air traffic-related activities and the affected area. In close cooperation with municipal administrations, intervention areas have been identified that fall within the territories of Bergamo, Orio al Serio, Grassobbio, Seriate, Bagnatica, and Brusaporto.
For dwellings falling within them an application may be made in order to verify the need for interventions to improve its soundproofing characteristics.
Le homes, for which applications will be made to the respective municipalities for action for environmental mitigation purposes, will be submitted for evaluation, using the technical support of the Institute for Construction Technology of the National Research Council (ITC-CNR).
"SACBO intended to proceed with the new call, in harmony with the Airport Development Plan 2015-2030 that obtained a positive judgment on Environmental Compatibility with DEC/VIA/238 dated 16/09/2022, giving continuity to the previous mitigation interventions at the dwellings around the airport - Giovanni Sanga, president of SACBO, explains. This intervention is part of the airport's management policy that looks at the territory as an active resource and participant in development, and it complements the other actions promoted at the airport, both in terms of green and digital transition, and in coordination with the airlines in relation to the renewal of fleets with the use of the latest generation aircraft with reduced consumption and noise impact".
The announcement, published on the institutional website of SACBO www.milanbergamoairport.it/it/ambiente/, Contains all information about the requirements for participation, how to submit applications and their timelines.
"It should be recalled that our airport represents a specific case study at the national level, precisely for having introduced criteria of proactive environmental mitigation interventions, making the administrations of the affected municipalities participate in them and entrusting all evaluations to scientific bodies that are maximally competent - adds the president of SACBO - All of this is part of the overall commitment to sustainability, which is a key chapter in the management budget, and to make sure that the related benefits trickle down to the local area".
