Wizz Air Malta, fleet expands: delivered a new AirBus A321neo
The new aircraft will be based in Rome: it is the 50th aircraft in the fleet
Wizz Air celebrates the 50th aircraft of its Maltese subsidiary. Established six months ago, Wizz Air Malta now serves 265 routes WIZZ from Italy, Albania, Austria and Romania With a fleet of 50 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.

The 50th aircraft which adds to the fleet of Wizz Air Malta is the most efficient and sustainable in its class, the A321neo with the tail number 9H-WDK, funded by SMBC Group, a long-time partner of Wizz Air will be based in Roma - one of the largest bases for Wizz Air - and Will operate flights on 77 routes from the Italian capital.
Wizz Air Malta was founded as fourth carrier within the Wizz Air Group (together with Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air UK, and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi) to further diversify its operations, providing greater flexibility and the potential for significant network and fleet expansion. Wizz Air Malta's first flight from Rome was operated on September 27, 2022. The airline now has nearly 1,500 employees e Serves 265 routes to 96 airports in 36 countries. Over 80% of its fleet consists of next-generation aircraft, confirming its commitment to providing travelers with more sustainable flight options.

Having started operations only six months ago, it now operates up to 200 flights a day from 14 bases in 4 countries. The Capt. Charles Pace, director general of the Malta Civil Aviation Directorate., stated, "I would like to congratulate Wizz Air Malta for reaching the milestone of the 50th aircraft in such a short time. Excellent working arrangements were established that allowed for an efficient process. I would like to thank the Wizz Air Malta team and the CAD Malta airworthiness inspectorate who made this achievement possible.
